No Day But Today

Published by felinegoddess at 8:15 pm under Reality or the Lack Thereof Edit This

No day but today.

I had a wonderful presence ripped from my life the other day.  My friend who was a wonderfully brilliant musician with a good kind and genuine soul, died the other day out of the blue.  Here one day gone the next.

It hurts to not have his presence in my life, but it hurts even more to realize that I had plenty of opportunities to see him over the past five years and I let them pass with a simple, “I’ll go next time, there will be plenty of times to see him in the future.”

We all inherently know the adage, “Enjoy life like there is no tomorrow,” but how often to we live it.  We get so stuck in the day to day hardship of just plain survival that we lose sight of what is really important to us, our loved ones and our happiness.

How many times do we put off stuff and keep putting it off because we are too busy paying the bills.  We work hard for the money to buy material things that make our lives more comfortable, but do these things truly make you happy.

Now I’m not suggesting you run out and get rid of all your worldly possessions or anything as drastic as that.  Just take a moment to realize what is truly important to you in this life and make that a priority.  Because you never know when your last day will be on this earth.

In loving memory of Richard Mikuls, fly free and high my friend!
